St. Andrews Senior High School, headquartered in Assin Fosu in the Central Region, successfully marked its 20th Anniversary from Monday, July 14 to Sunday, July 20, 2025. The celebration was held under the theme: "The Inclusion of Private SHS in the Free Education Programme: A Mirage or Reality?" The week-long event culminated in a grand Speech and Prize-Giving Day, which became one of the most significant educational gatherings in the region for the year. The ceremony brought together policymakers, educationists, private-sector stakeholders, and national political figures to reflect on two decades of academic excellence and to deliberate on the evolving role of private schools in Ghana's education system. A major focus of the anniversary was the ongoing national debate on the inclusion of private senior high schools in the government's Free SHS policy. This discussion became especially relevant in light of the Ministry of Education's decision to integrate 25 private SHSs into the 2025 Computerized School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS), enabling them to admit Free SHS beneficiaries for the first time. The event was chaired by Prof G.K.T Oduro, Technical Advisor to the Ministry of Education, who also delivered the key note address on behalf of the minister of education. In his remarks, the Founder of the St. Andrews Group of Schools and Companies, Prof. Richard Kofi Asiedu, reflected on the institution's remarkable 20-year journey and reiterated the school's dedication to delivering disciplined and quality education.
